Celebrate the Arts 4-H Photography Contest
The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation will sponsor the photography contest, and is open to any current Wisconsin 4-H member. The contest will be held virtually, with photos submitted electronically.
The winning photos from each category and the Best of Show will become the property of the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation and should not be used by the photographer for any other purpose. In addition, any entry may be used by the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation to promote the 4-H program and/or to raise funds for the Wisconsin 4-H program.
The contest will be broken into three categories. Additional categories, including age divisions, will be added based on actual entries. Photographers are STRONGLY encouraged to create art that has a 4-H theme or has root in their 4-H activities and experiences. Photographers will be asked to share the details of their inspiration and the 4-H connection as part of the entry process. The 4-H connection to the contest entry will be a part of the evaluation criteria.
The categories for the contest are:
- General Photography
- Black and White or Color digital photography with any subject and perspective.
- This category may be broken into sub-categories and age divisions based on entries.
- 4-H Experience
- Black and White or Color digital photography taken at a 4-H event or activity.
- Explanation of the 4-H event will be required.
- Clovers on Film
- Black and White or Color digital photography that has a 4-H clover and/or logo prominently in the photograph
A winner will be chosen in each category with a Best of Show award given to one entry chosen by the judging committee. Category winners will receive a $50 cash award. The Best of Show entry will receive an additional $100 cash award. Other photographs may be recognized but will not receive a cash award. Winners will be notified by email in March. A complete winner’s list, as well as photos of the winning entries, will be on the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation website by late March.
